Many recipes call for a bunch of steps before cooking for a long time. I ask: why precook all the ingredients if you’re just going to cook it again anyway? I understand maillard reaction and all that, but what if you’re lazy or short on time? This recipe came out great. If you want to be fancy you can add some star anise.
1.5 lbs beef short ribs, frozen or whatever
1.5 cups old red wine
1 onion, rough chop
2 lbs sweet potato, rinsed, skin on, 2 inch slices
- Throw everything in an instant pot
- Set it to high pressure manual for 60 minutes
- Release pressure
